Juventude na construção da agricultura do futuro
This issue of Revista Agriculturas is dedicated to rural youth. To understand the current experiences of youth and their future prospects, it is necessary to take into account the social structure surrounding them.
Issues like the concentration of land and a concept of development defined by modernization restricts their possibilities for practicing an alternative form of agriculture. To reflect on the present life and future prospects of rural youth, here we focus on three central themes: work, schooling and life projects.
The articles in this issue deal with the major difficulties that rural youth face in finding alternative places to live and work. Articles also focus on initiatives that various institutions developed to promote rural development with young people, starting from their needs and demands. The richness of these contributions stems not only from the diversity of experiences and regional institutional proposals, but above all from the contribution that these institutions offer young people and the rural world of the future.
